Song page! Instead of cutting it up into 2 pages, I figured I'd just make the page longer :)
Also, I drew the character lineart in Manga Studio! (but still did coloring and stuff in FLASH, I'm still not used to using other programs).
What do you guys think?
Also also, thank you for your patience! As usual, I've been busy making videos for LORE, not too long ago I was in Philly for Picoday week, and I'm working on cartoons for my youtube channel! I got a lot going on, but I'll do what I can to keep SQ updating :)
Honestly speaking, as a long time reader, previous pages just before this look cleaner... But at the same time this does look somewhat nicer in a way, kind of gives it that more video game sidequest-y feel with the little bit of aliasing that's occurring... And When changing programs, you do have to keep in mind, it will take getting used to.
This page has a slight glow to it, I copied the entire page in another layer and made it an overlay (or was it screen?) I think that is what's making the aliasing more noticeable.
In future pages it should be slightly less so, but even with the aliasing I'm going to stick with Manga Studio just because it's so pleasant to draw in. I'm really tired of Flash's brush, it's frustrating to use and it makes me dread working on anything. It's also why I never use smoothness in my animations anymore.
I THOUGHT I noticed a slight glow. It gives the page a nice lighting feel as opposed to a flatly shaded cartoon. The aliasing could be problematic, but if you can fix that, I really like what you're doing here. This comic's quality sure has come a long way from how it was at the start, and even back then it was charming!
Jeff is so damn hilarious and jolly. I never could've thought of a more lovable character. I really admire your style of story making, you add personality to every character and everyone just loves them. I ESPECIALLY love page 126 of him. Hilarious.
As another thing, (I enjoy reading this comic multiple times) and finding specific things that return to each other. Such as how Jeremy's clothes were being sewed, previously being hit with an arrow whilst it being on top of Jeff's head. There's really a lot of polish and you've done very well to close loopholes!
